The Council of Ministers on Monday expressed the Kingdom’s deep concern over the worsening security situation in Iraq and blamed it on the Baghdad government’s sectarian policies.

The Cabinet chaired by Deputy Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Salman rejected any foreign intervention in Iraq’s internal affairs.

Saudi Arabia also called upon all groups in Iraq to work for a unity government in the country after conducting political and constitutional reforms.

The Cabinet also emphasized the need to get rid of policies based on sectarianism and religious schools of thought (madahib), saying it had undermined the country’s security and stability.
